Cyborg 009: Nemesis, an anime adaptation of the iconic manga by Shōtarō Ishinomori, is set to debut on July 19th, 2026. The series will be available on various streaming platforms in Japan, including Abema Premium, d Anime Store, U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, Prime Video, and DMM TV. The story revolves around a global organization known as Black Ghost, which aims to plunge the world into eternal war. However, the nine cyborgs, each with their own unique abilities, rebel against Black Ghost and fight for freedom. The main character, Joe Shimamura/Cyborg 009, is voiced by Yūki Kaji. The theme song, "Taga Tame ni" (For Whom), is performed by Kyōko from the rock band Barbee Boys, originally used in the 1979 Cyborg 009 television anime series.
